Doshi, meaning "leading teacher," is the master instructor and head of the dojo, under Hanshi. A veteran of the United States Navy, he mixes his charismatic personality with discipline to teach fun and structured classes. He enjoys spending time with his fur babies/dogs, Fonzie and Budo. In his free time, he snowboards, skydives, and enjoys dancing! Doshi has also traveled to 48 states and over 15 countries performing/competing. His accomplishments include being a 6-time international Shotokan champion,12-time national Shotokan champion, 2-time international Kyokushin Champion, and EUSAIMAA Hall of Fame Inductee. Recently, Doshi joined his dojo under the IFK Organization where he and his elite students represent Ohio in the Kyokushin Karate world. Last, he is most proud of his Bully Buster Program - 12 steps for kids to handle bullies without fighting - which Matt volunteers teaching in four school districts and hopes to expand nationwide. Same as the Navy, Doshi Matt believes karate is a global force for good.

Zahand's Martial Arts- wow so many things i could say, ALL of the instructors are great , you can tell when they are teaching skills they all come from their hearts, they love what they do and regardless if you are a fast learner or slow one they treat everyone the same, young or old, the minute you walk into the Dojo you can feel your body and the way you carry yourself change. You will be accepted into a family there of others who are willing to teach you to build your self esteem and be a better person. We are fairly new to Zahands. Our boys age 6 & age 9 have both joined and are absolutely loving being a part of this dojo. The Zahand family is so kind and informative about what to expect through the whole experience. There is so much knowledge and expertise. We cannot imagine our kids learning anywhere else. We came with another friend that has been training here for years on a ‘buddy day.’ If you are considering signing your child up for martial arts come and check this place out. It’s the discipline mixed with fun, kindness and respect in and out of the dojo that did it for my family.

Absolutely incredible business. From the level of care and attention they give to the children, as well as how personably they interact with the parents, everything is far beyond anything I have experienced.
Our boy loves it here and brings up the instructors often in daily conversations. He is excited to go to each session and has made several friends while learning self control, dexterity, and moves I sure couldn’t pull off anymore! As someone who was in martial arts and kick boxing for years, I can honestly say that I am a tad jealous of the difference in his training compared to mine!
Our son’s goal is to get to black belt, and I know that he is at the right place to do so. Keep up the excellent work!
